4 FRAME NUCS

Nucs are now sold out for the year 2012. Sorry for any inconvenience.

JOHNSTONS HONEYBEE FARM sells 4 frame nucs (nucleus hives) consisting of three frames of brood, one frame of honey, plenty of bees to cover the frames, and a queen. Priced at $80. 

In 2012 we will only be selling "late" nucs with young queens raised during the current season. These nucs will be much less prone to swarming than nucs with one year-old queens and should overwinter well during the following winter. They can produce at least as much honey as packages purchased from the southern states. These nucs should be available starting May 28 or possibly earlier depending upon the weather.

A deposit of $10 per nuc will confirm your order.

Customers should bring a single story hive with space for four frames when picking up nucs. Alternatively, a wooden nuc box can be purchased for $20.

BROOD

We also sell frames of brood and queen cells.  Brood is available for $18 per frame. Queen cells are $5 each.
